singer Cynthia Bennett. Cynthia grew up in a musical family but didn't
perform professionally until she was well into two careers, as a
mother and as a nurse. After being "dragged blinking onto a stage",
she has delighted audiences in Ireland, Canada, and the United
States with her pure vocals, whimsical humor, and spirit of adventure
and fun. In her music, Cynthia relates Celtic mythology, Irish history
and stories of everyday life, frequently with a humorous twist.

Cynthia's back...well, sort of. She's easing into performing
again. She doesn't have the stamina she'd like, and riding in
the car remains difficult. Then again, Dick has to remind her to
"hang up the cape"...

We'll be at the Folk Alliance conference in Memphis Feb.
18-22. Once again, Cynthia's Music/Ceili Productions will host
showcase room 1827 with a great lineup: 93 artists from nine
countries and, of course, Cynthia. Check out the myspace page

Cynthia will be performing her latest songs, including "Itching
Egan" and "She Sang Red Is the Rose".
What will you do with a broken shoulder, earlye in the
morning? Thanks to everyone who has expressed concern,
said prayers, or helped out since Cynthia's accident. For those
who have asked, no glamour--she slipped and fell in the
mudroom. Note: spraying insect repellent on yourself indoors
makes the floor slippy. Don't try this at home. She has two
fractures in her right shoulder, a sprained knee, a crushed
hand, and possible rotator cuff damage. She'll be incapacitated
2-3 months...after that, please God, she'll be back onstage and
using the arm again. Yes, your calls, letters, and emails are
very welcome, thanks. We appreciate all of you.
